Pipers is proud to announce that it has been recognised as a LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) Demonstration School – a prestigious accolade awarded to a small number of schools who show outstanding commitment to sustainable farming education and environmental stewardship.

This achievement places Pipers among a select group of schools nationwide that are leading the way in integrating agriculture, food production and environmental care into everyday learning. The recognition is part of LEAF Education’s initiative to support and celebrate schools that inspire young people to develop a deeper understanding of where their food comes from and how farming plays a vital role in caring for the planet.

The award recognises the School’s commitment to delivering hands-on, practical learning experiences that connect students with nature, farming and sustainability. From cultivating vegetables in the School grounds to partnering with local farms, Pipers has embedded environmental awareness into its curriculum across a wide range of subjects.

Pipers will now play a key role in sharing best practice with other schools, hosting visits and workshops to support the wider education community in embedding sustainability into teaching and learning.

LEAF’s Director of Communication, Engagement and Education Carl Edwards congratulated the school, saying: Pipers Corner School has shown an exceptional commitment to environmental education. They are nurturing a generation that understands the value of sustainable food and farming. We are delighted to welcome them to the LEAF Demonstration School network and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will continue to make.”

This new chapter marks an exciting development for us, aligning with global efforts to raise awareness about climate change, food security and the importance of connecting young people to the natural world.
