On Wednesday 3 June 2026, students from Pipers Corner School travelled to Cardiff to take part in the prestigious Young Enterprise National Finals.

This year, over 10,000 students formed more than 1,000 companies as part of the programme, with only thirteen teams progressing to represent regions across England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Gibraltar. Our team this year, Afternoon Seed, proudly represented the South-Central region with distinction.

In the lead-up to the event, the team demonstrated exceptional commitment and professionalism by submitting a detailed company report, a four-minute recorded presentation, a 30-second promotional video, and completing a virtual interview with judges. On the day itself, they set up an impressive trade stand, engaged confidently with mystery shoppers, generated sales and embraced a variety of activities with enthusiasm and professionalism.

One of the highlights of the day was the “Apprentice: You’re Hired!” competition activity, hosted by Young Enterprise alumna and former Apprentice contestant Mia Collins. This fast-paced and dynamic event pushed students to think on their feet as they answered increasingly challenging questions about their business. Lilou R represented Afternoon Seed superbly, advancing to the semi-final stage as one of the final four students out of twenty-one competitors. She impressed judges with her confident and articulate responses on maintaining exceptional customer service and clearly explaining how Afternoon Seed’s product solves a real-world problem.

Pipers has once again demonstrated outstanding excellence in Young Enterprise, reaching the National Finals for the third time in the past four years. This prestigious stage represents the top 13 student companies across the entire UK, highlighting the consistent strength and quality of the school’s enterprise teams.

This year also marks a significant milestone, as Pipers Corner secured its first-ever National Promotional Video Award. This latest achievement adds to an impressive list of national accolades in the past four years, including previous awards for Innovation and Technology, as well as being named UK Runners-Up.

These successes reflect a sustained tradition of excellence. In recent years, Pipers Corner teams have dominated at area level, winning their Area competition for nearly ten consecutive years. Among these achievements, the 2019 team Bathe stands out, having won the UK Young Enterprise competition and progressed to the European final.

Together, these accomplishments underline the Pipers commitment to developing entrepreneurial skills and nurturing the next generation of business leaders.

This has truly been a standout year for Young Enterprise at Pipers. Huge congratulations to the Afternoon Seed team for their remarkable achievements and thank you to everyone who supported them along the way.
