On Wednesday 13 May 2026, our Young Enterprise team, Afternoon Seed, took part in the South Central and East of England Joint Regional Finals at the University of Hertfordshire.

In preparation for the events, teams were tasked to submit a detailed company report, accounting for 40% of their overall score. On the day itself, Afternoon Seed competed against 19 other student companies, demonstrating professionalism and confidence as they took part in all aspects of the competition, including presenting their trade stand, undergoing a formal team interview, and delivering a polished four-minute presentation live on stage.

The standard of competition was high, with an impressive range of products and ideas on display, including origami books, creative socks, handcrafted chopping boards, original publications, hydroponic systems and imaginative card games.

We are absolutely delighted to share that Afternoon Seed were crowned South Central Regional Champions. This remarkable achievement means they will go on to represent the region at the Young Enterprise National Finals in Cardiff.

A strong highlight is their ability to balance their Young Enterprise commitments alongside their AS examinations during study leave, with some members sitting exams both on the day of the competition and the following morning.

This accomplishment also highlights a fantastic milestone for the School, as this is the third Pipers team in the past four years to reach the national stage of the competition, an outstanding testament to the entrepreneurial talent and ambition of Pipers students.

We are incredibly proud of Afternoon Seed and wish them the very best of luck in Cardiff!
