Pipers Prep Students sing at The O2 in Young Voices 2026 Concert

This January, Year 5 students took part in the Young Voices 2026 concert at The O2, performing as part of an extraordinary children’s choir of 9,000 voices. 

After an intensive three-hour rehearsal, the students delivered a two-hour concert, singing alongside an incredible live band, energetic dance crew, and inspiring guest artists. It was a truly memorable experience and a moment of pride for everyone involved.

Year 5 started working on the tracks in June when they were still in Year 4. For over six months they have committed 100% to learning a diverse repertoire of songs and dances both in School Music lessons and through lots of practice at home. 

As well as developing their musical skills, Young Voices has acted as a window to the world for students, opening doors to new ideas, cultures and conversations. They have developed an understanding of the history of sea shanties, learned about the great Stevie Wonder and his campaigning for equality, discussed the power of believing in yourself through the very catchy ‘Power in Me’, and defied gravity time and time again as they soared through a clear favourite, ‘The Wicked Medley’.

Singing as part of a choir builds confidence and a powerful sense of belonging, and at Young Voices this is magnified as students become part of something so much bigger. Alongside boosting musical confidence and wellbeing, children become part of a community of the shared energy of thousands of voices creating an unforgettable, uplifting experience.

We are so impressed and proud of every member of Year 5. Across a very long and exciting day, they were a real credit to themselves and to the School, demonstrating courage, resilience and professionalism throughout. There is nothing like performing at The O2, it will be a memory that will last a lifetime for children and their parents.
