A Level And Leaver Destinations

A Level Results 2023

With the Government’s suggestion that A Level results will be returning to the pre-pandemic grade boundaries of 2019, we are delighted to announce the success of our Upper Sixth students this year in their examinations.

Over the 22 subjects on offer at Pipers Corner, almost half achieved A* or A grades (compared to the 28% predicted nationally in the media last week). With the School’s highest ever number of grades achieving at least a grade C or above and a 100% pass rate for the seventh year in a row, 2023’s results actually outperformed those from 2019 in every respect. In fact compared to 2019’s results at Pipers, students in 2023 have achieved almost twice as many top grades this year.

Students are now excited to be taking up places on a wide variety of degree courses at top universities across the country, including Edinburgh, Exeter, Bristol, UCL, Manchester, Newcastle and Nottingham where they will be studying a wide range of subjects from Law, Politics, Philosophy, Architecture, English Literature, Ancient History, Arabic, Spanish, Fine Art and Psychology.

The Headmistress, Mrs Helen Ness-Gifford, said “We are absolutely delighted with the achievements of this year’s Upper Sixth who have excelled in so many areas of the school, not just in academics, though their impressive results are a credit both to them and their teachers.  We will miss them as they move on to their future studies, but we are confident that their success will continue well beyond our School gates.”

Knowing as we do that A Levels are key to opening future opportunities, this summer we have also been incredibly proud to hear of the outstanding success beyond Pipers of our ex-students who have recently graduated from university. Both our 2019 and 2020 Head Girls, Chloe Ball and Mailena Clarke graduated from Birmingham and Exeter respectively with First Class Honours degrees - with First Class degree classifications also being achieved by their classmates Katie Pepper at Exeter University, Verity McDonald at Portsmouth University, Anna McVie at the University of Leeds and Vicky Cable at Royal Holloway. We congratulate them all and the many other Pipers Alumnae who have completed their degrees with distinction this summer.

It is good to know that even these students who left Pipers after the tumultuous Covid years when their A Levels were disrupted, can prove that their achievements don’t stop when Pipers’ School gates are behind them.
