External Exam Regulations
GCSE and A Level examinations are regulated by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) and the Awarding Bodies (including AQA, CIE, Eduqas, OCR and Pearson). The regulations for public examinations are not set by the School, but Pipers Corners School is committed to safeguarding the integrity of the examination system by ensuring all JCQ regulations are adhered to and that examinations are administered fairly to all candidates.
It is important that candidates are aware of the regulations and understand the importance of non-compliance. Failure to comply with any of the regulations will be treated as malpractice. Students should carefully read the attached documents compiled by the JCQ as they clearly set out the strict rules that govern the conditions under which external examinations are taken.
Exam Contingency Days 2024 | Update November 2023
These are now timetabled for the afternoons of the 6 and 13 June as well as the day of 26 June 2024. These contingency days are designed to be used in the event of national or significant local disruption to examinations.
The designation of ‘contingency days’ within the common examination timetable is in the event of national or significant local disruption to examinations in the United Kingdom. It is part of the awarding bodies’ standard contingency planning for examinations. Centres must therefore remind candidates that they must remain available should an awarding body need to invoke its contingency plan.

Students completing their GCSE and A Level courses next summer should be aware of the following results days:
