Visit Pipers | Pipers Corner School

Visit Pipers

There is no better way to experience Pipers Corner School than by visiting us in person.

Throughout the year there are numerous ways in which prospective families can engage with us and see for themselves what it means to be part of the Pipers community. With two whole school Open Mornings (October and Spring), individual family tours most weekday mornings and a series of experiential events and informative parent sessions, we are always striving to support our prospective families as they explore options for their child's education and consider whether Pipers could be the right fit for them.

We hope to see you at Pipers soon.

Upcoming Events

Nestled in our 96 acres, we are incredibly lucky to have a dedicated Woodland area in which our wilderness experts deliver our Forest School curriculum to all students from Reception to Year 6.

Each year, we take great pleasure in being able to welcome the local community and prospective families to experience this wild and almost magical space and engage in some of the outdoor learning activities that our own students hugely benefit from throughout their time at Pipers.

In Summer 2025, we are delighted to be running two events on the below dates.

Thursday 22 May, 1630-1800 hours (for students currently in Years 3, 4 and 5)

Thursday 5 June, 1630-1800 hours (for students currently in Pre-School, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2)

Hosted by the Headmistress, this event will explore how student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do here at Pipers.

With a panel of key pastoral staff members, including our Deputy Head (Pastoral), Head of Wellbeing, a Head of Year and a Form Tutor, this event will demonstrate the holistic and integrated approach that we take at Pipers and allow us to share our expertise in addressing common pastoral concerns. Parents will have the opportunity to ask their own questions of the panel and will leave with a stronger understanding of some of the general principles around young people’s mental health and wellbeing along with a clear sense of Pipers’ commitment to creating an environment and support system in which every student can grow and thrive.

The event will commence from 0920 hours in our Arts Centre with fresh coffee and pastries, and the session will formally start at 0930 hours (finishing by 1030 hours).

Individual tours are available most mornings during the working week at scheduled times, to coincide with independent study periods of our Sixth Form Tour Guides. Visiting the School on a one-to-one basis enables families to get a real feel for the school environment and sample the atmosphere for themselves.

As an all-through-School, not only do you get the chance to visit the part of the School most relevant to your daughter at the point of entry, but you will also get to see the areas of the School which your daughter will grow into.

Subject to availability, some of our tours can be accompanied by a meeting with the Headmistress. Priority is given to those families considering the upcoming academic year of entry. Please speak to the Admissions Team for more information.

If you would like to book an appointment, please contact the Admissions Team, via [email protected] or 01494 719843

Our flagship whole-school Open Morning event will take place on Saturday 4 October 2025 and offers an invaluable chance for parents considering the School to see our girls, dedicated staff and our fantastic facilities in action.

At the event, each tour will start with a welcome talk from the Headmistress in our 280-seater Arts Centre Theatre and then each family will be taken on a tour of the School by one of our lovely student tour guides ending with refreshments from our wonderful catering team. During the tour you will see all our academic subjects in action, as well as our huge array of sporting, arts and other extra-curricular activities and be able to ask questions of the teachers and staff you meet along the way. At the end of your visit, the Admissions Team will be on hand to discuss all things related to our registration and application processes.

Booking will formally open in September, with bookable time slots, but you can reserve a spot at what is always a sell-out event now using the link below.

Past Events

On Wednesday 2 April 2025 we were delighted to welcome both our new Pre-Prep starters for September 2025 along with prospective Pre-Prep students to Pipers for a special musical workshop. This engaging and immersive event was designed for our own Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 students, to help them develop their storytelling skills, and it was lovely to be able to share the magic with local and prospective families with pre-school aged children.

The musical workshop was based on a well-known fairytale, with dancing, singing and games, and prospective parents enjoyed the chance to speak with the Head of Pre-Prep and the teaching team to get an insight into what life is like in our wonderful Woodlands Pre-Prep setting.

A similar event will run again in Spring 2026. Please get in touch with the Admissions Team if you are interested in attending a similar event in the future - email [email protected].

Our new termly Conversation and Coffee events see a Senior member/s of staff offer expert insight and guidance on a wide range of topics, that will resonate with families as they support their child through their educational journey.

Topics span a broad range of themes that include Academic, Pastoral, Extra and Super-curricular Enrichment and Individual Learning.

Previous Conversation & Coffee Events

Individual Learning and Neurodiversity in School | Thursday 13 February 2025

Every November, we open up our doors to our own Years 10 and 11 students, as well as to those families who might be considering joining our incredible Sixth Form.

At this event, families will have the opportunity to hear from our Academic Deputy Head and Sixth Form Leadership Team, including our Senior Prefects, and explore more than 25 A Level subjects that are on offer to our Sixth Form students.

The next event will take place in November 2025.

Year 6 at Pipers Corner School lays a unique foundation for success in Senior School and beyond.

Year 6 is a natural entry point here at Pipers, with around 20 new students joining our existing 20 Year 5 students, creating a two-form year group.

We know for some families, a Year 6 transition is not a traditional time to move their child, but we believe in the benefits of joining Pipers at this point. In our nurturing, supportive environment, our Year 6 students develop confidence, independence and a growth mindset preparing them for the challenges of Year 7 and the future ahead.

We are delighted to invite parents considering possible entry for their daughter at this point, to attend our Year 6 Parent Information Morning on Friday 31 January 2025. Our Head of Prep, Mr Urquhart, will lead a talk over refreshments and parent will have the opportunity to meet members of Prep staff and ask questions.

The event will start at 0915 hours and last approximately one hour. To secure your place, please use the link below.

Booking for this event has now closed but we hope to run a similar session in Autumn 2025.
