On Thursday 20 June the Year 5 and 6 Swimming Squad took part in the Bucks and Milton Keynes School Games at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium. There six mixed teams of boys and girls competing in the Gala had all qualified for the finals by winning their individual Partnership events. This meant that all of the races were hotly contested.

All of the competitors were ranked from number one to number four in the girls’ team and again in the boys’ team (our Year 5 girls competed in the boys’ event). Each competitor swam 25m of Backstroke, Breaststroke and Front crawl, then there was a girls’ Medley and Freestyle Relay and a boys’ Medley and Freestyle Relay.

Out of the 28 races, Pipers Corner came an amazing first place in 14 of them, which was a fantastic achievement in itself, however the Pipers’ teams went event better with Phebe H (Year 6, Capt.) , Louise H (Year 6), Katie T (Year 6), Martha B (Year 6), Rowen S (Year 5), Phoebe H (Year 5), Grace-Mary F (Year 5) and Lily H (Year 5) taking first place overall.

All the girls received a gold medal, a participant’s medal and a very large silver trophy. A fabulous finish to a very successful swimming season.
