Pipers Corner was ablaze with creativity at this year’s Choreography Competition. The annual event is a fabulous opportunity for girls of all ages to showcase their dance ideas and flair as they choreograph their own dance piece.

Entrants from Years 4 to 8 were keen to show their dancing skills and the watching audience were treated to a range of styles from modern to ballet.

Adjudicators, Ms Hadler and Upper Sixth Dance student, Alice K were faced with the tricky task of selecting the winners. In the end first place and runner-up awards were announced in Junior and Senior categories as follows:

Junior
First place: Annique B (Year 4) and Grace-Mary F (Year 5) for their performance which the judges praised for its quality of movement, good partner work and very nice end position.
Runner-up: Justine J (Year 4) for her piece which was noted for its nice original movements.

Senior
First place: Ellie F (Year 7) for her individual piece. Ms Hadler congratulated Ellie on her energy and commented on the structure of movement and how well it had been put together.
Runner-up: Karli-Ann J (Year 7) and Eliscia S (Year 7) who were praised for displaying lovely unison work with some very original movements.

Well done to all the girls who took part!
