Our Students Celebrate Outstanding A Level Results

Students at Pipers Corner School are celebrating an outstanding set of A Level results, with almost half of all grades awarded at A* or A.

There was particularly strong achievement at the highest level, with well over half of students gaining at least one A or A* grade and almost a quarter of the year group achieving straight A/A* grades across all three of their main subjects.

The strength of the results was reflected across an impressive breadth of the curriculum, with every student taking Mathematics, Physics, Geography, Physical Education, Fine Art, Textiles, Drama and Theatre Studies, and Dance achieving a grade of B or above.

Alongside the exceptional results at the highest level were strong individual achievements across the cohort, reflecting the confidence, ambition and academic progress students have developed during their time in the Sixth Form.

Both Lower and Upper Sixth students receive results at Pipers today, with students sitting AS Levels at the end of Year 12, providing valuable external examination experience and a strong foundation for their final A Level year.

For this year’s Upper Sixth, success has extended far beyond examination results. Pipers has reached the National Finals of Young Enterprise three times in the past four years, including in each of the past two years. Students have also taken part in the 2025 World Challenge expedition to Eswatini and South Africa and this summer’s Sports Tour to South Africa and their Gold DofE. They have raised thousands of pounds for charity and played a significant part in leading school life, from Head Girl and House leadership roles to supporting younger students.

They now move on to an exciting range of courses and destinations, including the universities of Cambridge, St Andrews, Exeter, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol and Edinburgh.

Headmistress Helen Ness-Gifford said:

“There is so much to celebrate today. We are delighted by the exceptional achievement at the very highest level, but some of the individual successes are every bit as pleasing – particularly for those students who have achieved more than they might once have thought possible. Watching their confidence and ambition grow over the past two years has been wonderful.

“This has been a terrific Upper Sixth. They have worked hard, thrown themselves into school life and given a great deal back to our community. Most of all, I am proud of the confident and interesting young women they have become. We will miss them enormously, but I am very excited to see what they do next.”

The School congratulates both Upper and Lower Sixth students on their achievements and wishes the Upper Sixth every success as they take their next steps.
