Lower IV, Middle IV and Upper IV (Years 7 to 9)
Girls in years 7 to 9 follow a broad and balanced curriculum which includes the following subjects:

  • Technology - Food
  • Mathematics
  • Technology - Textiles
  • Biology
  • Technology - Resistant Materials
  • Physics
  • Technology - ICT
  • Chemistry
  • Drama
  • French
  • Art
  • German
  • Music
  • Spanish
  • Dance
  • History
  • Physical Education
  • Geography
  • Personal and Social Education
  • Religious Studies

English, Mathematics and French are taught in sets and all schemes of work include National Curriculum programmes of study.

During their UIV year girls are guided in their choice of subjects for the two years in the Fifth forms leading to GCSE.

 

Lower V and Upper V (Years 10 and 11)
All girls study a common "core" of six subjects: English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, one modern foreign language chosen from French, German and Spanish and Double Certificate Science studied as Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Three further optional subjects are chosen from a number of options including:

  • Art
  • History
  • Business Studies
  • Religious Studies
  • Dance
  • Hospitality and Catering
  • Design Technology
  • ICT
  • Drama
  • Music
  • French
  • Physical Education
  • Geography
  • Textiles

In addition all girls follow Personal and Social Education which includes: Religious Studies, Careers, Health Education and Physical Education. Some students may also choose to study for an additional ICT qualification as an extended day option.
