Year 11 girls at Pipers Corner School are celebrating an impressive set of GCSE results today. This year's results show a higher number of A and A* grades than in previous years and 100% of all girls achieved at least 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C.

Upper Sixth girls at Pipers Corner School are celebrating 100% success in A Level examinations this week. With 92% of all results being at grades A*-C and just under a third of all results at the highest A* and A grades we are extremely proud of all the girls and their achievements.

Parents' Day, the finale to the academic year, took place on Saturday 10 July. With the sun gloriously beating down, the entire school community - girls, their families, Governors, teachers and guests - joined together for a celebration of the many successes achieved throughout the year.

Friday 2 July saw students from all year groups compete in numerous events in what is always a fiercely contested event – the Pipers Corner School Sport's Day. It was a fitting finale to what has been an extremely busy sporting year and there were plenty of outstanding performances on the day.

Year 6 girls embraced the Victorian era when they performed their end of term production "Olivia" by Malcolm Sircom. The musical traced the steps of Olivia and her transformation from a downtrodden orphan to a star on the stage.

As part of their History Study of the Ancient Greeks, girls in Year 3 held a Greek God Party at the end of June. In advance of the celebration the girls each had to find out about a Greek god or goddess, source a costume, write a short speech and make a sash with the god's name emblazoned on it.

The annual Pipers Corner Art exhibition took place this week as parts of the school were transformed into galleries featuring work from girls in Prep through to Sixth Form. As well as enjoying the displays, visitors were also able to take refreshment in "Chez les Filles", a café run by our GCSE Catering and Hospitality students.

The idea that sharing is a lot more fun than arguing was just one of the messages that Prep girls presented recently, through some very professional drama performances. Girls in LII (Year 3), UII (Year 4) and LIII (Year 5) each took to the stage as they performed the pieces they have been working on this term.

The world came to Pre-Prep recently as the girls celebrated International Day. Pre-Prep was decorated with flags and all the girls dressed up in costumes that represented countries from around the world.

The entire school community came together on Tuesday morning to share in a whole school assembly outside on the lawn. Fortunately the sun was shining as the girls explored the theme of God's creation through art.

Eleanor Waite (Year 8) has had a fantastic start to the season playing for the Bucks U13 girls' cricket team. After three games they are the only unbeaten team in the U13 South League. Eleanor has produced two very impressive bowling performances and currently stands in the top 16 girls nationally in terms of wickets taken.

Year 9 student Victoria Horwood demonstrated her talent on the rugby field recently when the team she plays for, Bucks Jesters Under 15s, won the U15 Rugby Sevens Bowl in a countrywide tournament held in Tring. The U15 team had never played rugby sevens before so this was a fantastic achievement for Victoria and her teammates.

This week girls in LIV (Year 7) spent a beautifully sunny day at Kenilworth Castle to complement their study of History. Half the day was spent on a tour of the castle and the other half of the day was spent in the company of a medieval barber surgeon whose re-enactments and descriptions of medieval medicine both horrified and enthralled the girls!

Election Fever hit Pipers Corner School last week as the girls went to the polls, taking part in a mock election on the same day as the National General Election. Early evening on Wednesday, 45 ranks of the Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines Collingwood, under the leadership of their Director of Music, Major Jason Burcham, performed a sell out concert at Pipers Corner School, culminating in a "Beating Retreat Ceremony" on the school lawn.
