In Prep we follow the National Curriculum and work towards SATs in Year 6. We are fortunate in that we have a curriculum which encompasses a wide variety of subjects giving the girls the opportunity to learn more about their strengths and skills.

Facilities

Pipers Prep girls are based in their own area within the school. Their colourful form rooms are named after semi-precious stones and are their bases for the core subjects and many of the foundation subjects. All Prep girls are also able to take advantage of the main school facilities.

Learning Support
Pipers is committed to helping any of the girls who need learning support to overcome their difficulties and achieve their full potential. We find that encouragement and support allows girls to develop self confidence and self esteem, which in turn leads to improvements in the standard of work they produce.

Gifted and Talented
We are passionate about supporting each individual pupil in the Prep Department. To that end as well as offering traditional learning support we also provide for our high attaining girls, identifying and regularly reviewing the top "gifted and talented" pupils in each year group, through formative and summative assessment.

Extra-curricular activities
A diverse range of clubs and activities had long been central to life at Pipers and has a vital part to play in the development of each girl as a well-rounded individual. With a wide selection of lunch-time and after school clubs and activities to choose from, girls are encouraged to discover and pursue their own interests.

Pastoral care
Our comprehensive pastoral care system ensures that individual effort and achievement are monitored and personal and academic targets are identified. Every girl is placed in the care of a Tutor who, in addition to managing the routines of the form group, fosters the development of personal and moral responsibility
