It was a case of "Ciao", "Bonjour", "Aloha" and "Haai" as well as "Hello" for girls in Pipers Pre-Prep Department as they learnt about different cultures and countries as part of their "International Day".

There were lots of interesting tasks and activities for the girls to take part in including a parade where thy showed off the outfits they had worn to school – each dressed in clothes from another country!

The day was spent making things and learning about what it is like to live in different places. The girls made hair braids from the Caribbean, Indian elephants out of card decorated with sequins, Spanish maracas from a paper plate, crepe paper and beans and Venetian masks from coloured card and doilies.

They also enjoyed International food at snack time (French bread, tortilla chips (Mexico), mini poppadoms (India), pretzels (Israel) and chocolate milk (Mexico - discovered chocolate).

As part of the day a teddy bear raffle was held to raise money for the charity Street Kids Direct which supports programmes for street children in Guatemala and Honduras. A total of £107 was raised which was a magnificent effort by the girls and their teachers.
