We were delighted to welcome Mrs Valerie Stattersfield back to Pipers Corner School on Tuesday 17 June. A specially commissioned portrait to commemorate her tenure and achievements as Headmistress was unveiled by the Countess of Buckinghamshire and will hang in the school library.
Speaking prior to the unveiling Countess of Buckinghamshire said that the portrait "had been commissioned by the Board of Governors in recognition of Mrs Stattersfield's outstanding leadership of the School for ten years."
The portrait was revealed to the assembled Governors, staff and guests who then enjoyed a lunch followed by an opportunity for tea with the rest of the Pipers Corner Staff. Painted by Jane Bond, a Member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, the painting is a remarkable likeness showing Mrs Stattersfield in a contemplative moment.

Speaking at the unveiling Mrs Stattersfield said "I am very honoured by the commission and thank the Governors for the confidence they showed in me over my ten years as Headmistress and for all their support." She also told the other guests that sitting for the portrait had been a fascinating experience and something that she would never forget.
