Talented artists from Pipers demonstrated that small can be beautiful when the results of a miniature painting competition were announced. With over 50 entries of a very high standard it was a very tough decision to decide on the overall winner.
Miniature painting is a form in which usually paintings can be no larger than 12.5cm x 17.5cm, including framing. This means that many of the girls were working at an unfamiliar size when they are so used to painting on regular sized canvasses. This fact alone makes their achievements even more fantastic.

The competition was judged by Mr Phillip Halton, a semi-professional miniature painter and member of a number of miniature painting societies including The Hilliard Society and The Royal Society of Miniature Painters. Mr Halton said, "I was very impressed by the high levels of skill shown in this year's entries. Some of the younger girls in particular produced some lovely work. Well done to all the girls who entered and thank you for making it such a difficult decision for me to select a winner!"

The overall winner of the competition was Annabel Hobden who is in MIV (Year 8) for her paintings entitled "Marlow Bridge" and "Orchids". She received a £50 book token for her wonderful work.

As the quality of entries was so good Mr Halton also decide to award a number of winners from each age group. Congratulations to:
