The final in our programme of music recitals took place on Tuesday 3 June. We were delighted to welcome 10 students from The Purcell School of Music to perform in the Landau Hall.
The Purcell School is a boarding school for young musicians, and Britain's oldest specialist music school. Pupils from the school perform regularly at major London venues including the Wigmore Hall, the South Bank Centre and Steinway Hall.
Ranging in age from 11 to 16 the boys and girls treated the audience to a range of pieces from composers including: Liszt, Schubert, Beethoven, Debussy, Ravel, Brahms and Chopin.

It truly was a feast of musical entertainment. Music Director, Mr Phillip Lloyd, said "It is such a pleasure to witness the performances of so many talented young musicians. I'm sure that many of them are names to watch out for in the future. It is a wonderful experience for girls at Pipers to see these musicians play and I'm sure it will inspire many of them in their own musical studies."
We hope to hold further recitals at Pipers Corner next year. Details will be published on the school website as soon as they are available.
