Girls from Mandeville House demonstrated their generosity today as they held their annual Harvest Festival Service. Each member of Mandeville came to House assembly with a box of food (many of which had been ornately decorated) to form part of an offering to be distributed to local pensioners living in the High Wycombe area.

School Chaplain, Rev Mary Gurr led the service and talked to the girls about the idea of sharing and how even giving up a little of what you have can make a vast deal of difference to someone who does not have as much.

All the girls from Pre-Prep through to Upper Sixth were involved in the Festival and after the main assembly a group of Sixth Formers went to collect the Pre-Prep offerings. They were delighted as the younger girls took the chance to entertain them by singing a number of harvest songs for them.

The rest of the morning was taken up by the business of delivery as Mrs Collins and her trusty group of Sixth Formers took the baskets and boxes around the local area.

Headmistress, Mrs Helen Ness-Gifford said, "The Mandeville Harvest Festival represents a wonderful opportunity for the Pipers girls to give something back to the local community. Each year we receive many letters of thanks from people who have received the baskets and the girls love to visit people and chat to them as they make the deliveries."
