Members of Hampden House at Pipers Corner School put on a real show of talent today in the Landau Hall. With ten excellent performances the girls demonstrated that they have wide ranging abilities in dance, music, gymnastics and drama.
|
From singing show songs to dancing and playing the piano, the girls treated their audience to a great lunchtime entertainment. Other highlights included a performance from a rock band and a comedy skit which the girls used as an excuse to poke gentle fun at some of their favourite teachers!
|
The show was rounded off by a surprise performance from some members of staff dancing to the Jackson Five classic "Blame it on the Boogie" – the girls were all delighted by the spectacle of their teachers dressed up and dancing!
At the end of the show the judging panel faced the tough choice of selecting the best performers. The prizes were as follows:
- First prize: Olivia Hall and group who gave a comedy sketch performance
- Second prize: Natascha Forbes-Pyfrom, who sang a song with great emotion
- Third prize: The Candy Man dancers who danced to Kylie's "Wow, Wow, Wow Wow"
- Special commendation: Ruby Bones for a promising gymnastics display
Headmistress, Mrs Helen Ness-Gifford said, "It's been a really difficult decision this year as the standard of entries has been extremely high. Well done to Olivia and her group – their performance was a fantastic example of excellent team work."
