Last week, girls from Pipers Corner were delighted to welcome 25 senior citizens from the local area to an Easter tea party at the School. Not only was there a delicious array of sandwiches, scone and cakes on offer, there was also some musical entertainment with performances from our talented Prep girls.

Groups of Sixth Formers sat at every table to chat and get to know our visitors. Charlotte and Lizzie, two girls from the Lower Sixth said, "The party enabled the guests and the girls to enjoy one another's company whilst sampling some scrumptious cake. One of the ladies told us how lovely it was to have an afternoon of entertainment."

The tea was a real team effort - planned by the BTEC Hospitality students, the food was made with help from girls in other years. UV (Year 11) Catering students made the cakes, the sandwiches were prepared by UIV (Year 9) and MIV (Year 8) girls acted as waitresses and did the clearing up.

It was a really lovely occasion and many of the girls commented on how they had enjoyed the afternoon and talking to the senior citizens. Mrs Derbyshire, who organised the event said, "We were really pleased so many of the local people were able to join us for tea. We hope that they enjoyed themselves as much as we did and we look forward to welcoming them again next year."
