The annual Pipers Corner Confirmation Service took place on Thursday 13 March at Hughenden Parish Church. Seven girls were confirmed and one was also baptised.

The service itself was presided over by The Rt Revd Doctor Alan Wilson, Area Bishop of Buckingham. It was a beautiful occasion which enabled the girls to reflect on everything they had learnt as they made their commitment of faith to God in front of their families and friends. Following the service they returned to School for a celebration tea.

The day was the culmination of five months of preparation undertaken by the girls. During that time the girls met weekly, after School, for a programme of teaching which was shared between Head of Religious Studies, Mrs Nicola Gledhill and the School Chaplain, Revd Mary Gurr. The sessions were varied and aimed to cover as much as possible of the Christian faith. During their last session the girls spent a quiet afternoon in All Saints where they were able to understand the way a town centre church reaches out to shoppers and to experience the newly installed inside quiet garden at the east end of the church.

School Chaplain, Rev Mary Gurr said, "This was a joyous occasion. My thanks go to the Bishop of Buckingham, the Rt Revd Dr Alan Wilson, for his gentle leading of the service and his wise words, to the Revd Simon Cronk and his verger, to all who organised transport and most of all to Mrs Gledhill who has worked so hard to make this a perfect occasion. I hope the girls will remember this day, and will continue on the Christian way all of their lives."
