Our boarding community at Pipers offers flexibility, freedom and peace of mind to both girls and their parents. The school's safe and secure accommodation provides a "second home" environment at the heart of the school.

What makes boarding at Pipers different to other boarding schools?

  • The excellent staff-student ratios
  • The mixed age range of the boarders
  • The fully-integrated boarding houses in which girls often behave as sisters to each other
  • The exceptionally beautiful environment.

In the warmth of this special community, girls can share friendship, have fun and achieve their academic potential.

What we offer
Girls aged 8-18 can be full or weekly boarders at the school. We can also offer different ways to board such as occasional or temporary boarding when it suits our families.

The school only closes for the published half term and end of term holidays. We are happy to support families in making travel arrangements at these times.

Outside the timetabled day the girls are supervised in their academic work and supervised "Prep" sessions take place each evening and on Saturday morning. The girls enjoy the opportunity this gives them to do their work alongside their friends.

They are also able to utilise the school facilities, such as the art and textiles rooms or the music areas if they want to work on more practical projects. Boarding staff take a real interest in each girl's academic development and provide an outstanding level of personal support.

Our boarding community includes girls from a wide range of overseas countries including Hong Kong, China, Russia, Germany, Japan, Thailand, Holland and America, as well as girls whose families live in the UK or very locally. We also have a number of daughters of serving military personnel.

Exeats
There are no set exeats at Pipers and girls can choose to go out for weekends to stay with their friends, relatives or guardians, whenever they wish. There are always girls in at weekends and we tailor the arrangements to suit their wishes. Often small groups of 4 or 5 girls will choose to go into High Wycombe shopping, or to the cinema. Some girls will choose to stay in at weekends so that they can complete homework assignments in peace and quiet, or to revise before the busy examination periods.

Weekend activities
We treat each of our girls as individuals and weekend arrangements revolve around what they want to do. Common activities include: ice-skating, bowling, shopping, museum, social events, theatre and cinema trips. They are also free to take advantage of the school's own on-site facilities for swimming or other sporting activities which include our own fitness centre.

Pipers Corner is set in 36 acres of grounds so there is lots of outside space for them to explore. The school also hosts a number of special events for boarders such as a Halloween evening, Chinese New Year dinner and end of term parties and barbeques.

Transport
The school is happy to help parents with making travel arrangements for their daughters and we have links with local transport firms who provide excellent airport services.

The school also has its own minibuses and can provide transport to London at weekends when there is sufficient demand.
