Parents' Day, the finale to the academic year, took place on Saturday 9 July. It was a lovely occasion where the entire school community - girls, their families, Governors, teachers and guests - joined together for a celebration of the many successes achieved throughout the year.
This term, 16 excited Year 9 girls, along with Ms Bell and Miss Lindsay headed off to Devon for a week at the Arvon Foundation in Totleigh Barton. This week the whole of Pre-Prep enjoyed a fun filled visit to Legoland, Windsor. They took part in two workshops called "Tall Towers" and "Get Moving" before making the most of the chance to enjoy some of the attractions and rides on offer at the venue.
We were delighted to welcome over 300 people to Pipers Corner School on Tuesday as they joined us for an evening of "Jazz on the Terrace", or to be more specific thanks to the British weather, "Jazz in the Marquee". With pre-concert picnics it provided a wonderful opportunity for people to get together and enjoy good food, good music and good company.
Friday 1 July saw students from all year groups compete in a variety of sporting events for this year's hotly contested Sports Day. It was a fitting finale to an exhilarating sporting year at Pipers and there were numerous outstanding individual and team performances on the day.
A number of new sports ran during National Sports Week last week in both the Prep Department and the Senior School. It was a great initiative to introduce the girls to things that they had not tried before and generated a great amount of enthusiasm for being active!
As a prelude to the Art Exhibition there was a grand unveiling of a large ceramic wall relief made as part of the school's "Artist in Residence" project. The piece incorporates drawings and words from the girls involved that reflect what Pipers Corner means to them, as well as direct pressings from around the school.
The annual Pipers Corner Art Exhibition took place on Friday last week as the school became a gallery featuring work from girls in Prep through to Sixth Form. As well as enjoying the displays, visitors were also able to take refreshment in the afternoon tea and cake shop run by our Catering and Hospitality students.
