On Friday afternoon Lower Sixth girls at Pipers Corner were delighted to welcome senior citizens from the Wycombe area to an Easter tea party at the School. As well as offering them a delicious selection of scones, sandwiches and cakes the girls spent time talking to their visitors and providing them with some musical entertainment.

Whilst the refreshments were being thoroughly enjoyed, Heidi Millar (U6) played beautifully on the piano. There was then a programme of musical pieces which included solo singing performances from Emma Hamilton (L6), Rebecca Robinson (UIII1), Jodie Pope (UIII1) and Charlotte West (UIII1). There was also an instrumental item from Elizabeth White (L6) on her flute. The entertainment was brought to a close by the Junior Choir who sang Abba's "I have a Dream" and "Gonna Build a Mountain" from the musical "Stop the World - I want to get off".

Groups of Lower Sixth Formers sat at every table to chat to their guests and to make sure that their teacups were topped up. The planning and organisation of the event was undertaken by Megan Hughes (U6) as part of her BTEC Hospitality course. Her fellow classmates prepared the food and also acted as waitresses for the afternoon.
It was a really lovely occasion and many of the girls commented on how much they had enjoyed the afternoon and the time they spent with their visitors. Mrs Derbyshire, Acting Head of Sixth, said, "We were really pleased so many of the local people were able to join us for tea. Many of the girls have met them before during Harvest and Christmas gift deliveries so it was a lovely opportunity for them to be re-acquainted."
