It was World Book Day on Thursday 5 March and girls at Pipers Corner School celebrated books and reading throughout the week with a number of literary themed activities. Girls had the opportunity to take part in quizzes, a design a book competition and class discussions about their favourite books and authors.
In the Library, Mrs Sue Williams, the School Librarian and the Library Prefects ran a book sale at long break each day to raise money for the charity Book Aid International. Mrs Williams also ran the various quizzes and competitions. Watch this space for an announcement regarding the winners.

One of the highlights of the week for Prep girls was the opportunity to come to school dressed up as their favourite character from a book for a special parade. There were lots of exciting characters to see including The Worst Witch, the Scarecrow from "The Wizard of Oz", an Oompa Loompa from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and The Mad Hatter from "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland"! See below for pictures of the Form groups.

As part of the run up to World Book Day we were very pleased to welcome The Storyteller, John Harris, to School on Wednesday 4 March. He delighted the Prep girls with his ancient Greek legends and spooky stories.
All in all we had a wonderful week with lots of opportunities for the girls to be introduced to a range of exciting new books and authors.
