A Sixth Form Girl, studying Business Studies at Pipers Corner, recently gained a revealing insight in the world of business in the 21st Century as she took part in a valuable period of Work experience with a local company.

Takhmina was lucky enough to complete a period of work experience over February half-term at The Walters Group, a highly successful local business which specialises in delivering innovative electronics manufacturing solutions to a broad range of national and international clients.

During the week she spent there, Takhmina had the chance to work in many of the different departments. This included the manufacturing side of the business where she found out about how coils and transformers are constructed, a visit to the shop floor where she met many of the production staff, time spent with the Sales Department, and a first time attendance at an actual Business meeting.

At the end of the week Takhmina said "It was a great joy for me to have the opportunity to work for a week in the Walters Group. I really liked the production process on the shop floor and I was happy to make a small contribution to the creation of electrical generators for banks. I also enjoyed taking part in the meeting and seeing how important decisions are made. The experience will be a guide for me in my future life."
