Registration and Admissions

The First Step
Girls are admitted to Pipers Corner School from age 3 to 18 years, usually at the beginning of the school terms, but, exceptionally, throughout the year.

Parents who wish their daughter to be considered for entry are asked to complete the school's registration form. Contact us to ask for a copy of the form. Alternatively fill in our Prospectus request form.

You can also email our Registrar if you have any queries regarding admissions.

On receipt of the completed form a girl's name is placed in the list of applicants for admission.

Admission to the Pre-Prep Department (3 to 7 year olds)
The Head of Pre-Prep assesses the prospective pupils for the Pre-Prep department in half-day or full-day visits. She especially reviews the level of literacy, numeracy and social skills before writing a report for the Headmistress on the basis of which offers are made.

Admission to the Prep Department (7 to 11 year olds)
Admission is by interview with the Head of Prep. Prospective pupils join the Prep Department for a day visit during which staff assess reading ages and levels of literacy, numeracy and social skills. The Headmistress makes her decision after considering the recommendations made by the Head of Prep and the progress report from the current school.

Admission to the Senior School (11 to 18 year olds)
Admission is usually by entrance exam at the age of 11 although some girls also enter at 12+, 13+, 14+ and 16+ when places are available. Prospective pupils sit three entrance tests: English, Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning. They are also interviewed by the Headmistress, Deputy Head or a member of the Senior Education Team. The results of these tests, together with a progress report from the candidate's current school, are the basis on which the Headmistress makes offers of places.

Admission to the Sixth Form is open to all students at Pipers who achieve 5+ GCSE subjects at grades A* - C. Applications from students who have attended other schools are welcome.

Special educational needs
Girls with mild specific learning difficulties are offered places at Pipers Corner and often grow in our supportive environment to achieve very creditable examination results.
