On Tuesday 12 February, Pre-Prep 1 and Pre-Prep 2 visited Windsor Castle. Setting off in sunshine the girls arrived to find Windsor in the fog and were slightly disappointed not to see the Royal Standard flying.
But spirits soon lifted as they entered the castle – they had a good look at the arrow slits and thick walls, were able to look over the battlements and understand why a hill is such a good place to build a castle. The girls particularly enjoyed visiting Queen Mary's dolls house, marvelling at the detail of everything in it.

Following a tour of the State Apartments the girls watched the changing of the Guard with some rousing music from the soldiers in the band who were dressed in Piper's colours - in our honour perhaps!
There was an interesting presentation all about the castle, its history and how it had changed, starting 1000 years ago up until the present day. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and really learnt a lot.
