On Monday 22 June 2009 the whole of Pre-Prep enjoyed a visit to Woburn Safari Park.

The girls were amazed by the variety of animals they saw, beginning with antelopes and deer, followed swiftly by the Chapmans zebras and Ankole cattle with the biggest horns in the world!
They then travelled into the Kingdom of the Carnivores and saw two tigers in Tiger Woods, one of whom was splashing in the pond, the Siberian Timber Wolf pack and the new Iberian wolf pack on the Navajo Trail. They then saw the bears, one looking very wobbly as he staggered to his feet after his morning nap. On then to Simba Hills where Shane the male lion was surrounded by his pride and Bailey the adolescent was just growing his mane.

After that the girls went on to see Casper the giraffe and his friends, staring at them through their wonderful eyelashes, followed by a real zebra crossing (he was standing in the middle of the road holding up all the traffic!), the elephants, the bongos and the Bactrian camels with their double humps. Last stop on the coach tour was the African forest with its 3 populations of monkeys, Colobus, Patas and Barbary Macaques.
After lunch the group went on a foot safari, starting with the Australian Walkabout, particularly exciting was the rather large Joey attempting to get into his mother wallaby's pouch and the large rhea birds that looked like ostriches. Next it was time to visit the Monkey Business enclosure, where squirrel monkeys enjoyed using some girls' heads as stepping stones to get from one side of the path to the other.
Finally there was time for a visit to the penguins, a glimpse of the sea lions and a trip through the Treetops Trail, where the girls travelled across rope bridges and made their way down the rope tower (some more gracefully than others!).
