A group of Pipers girls had the chance to improve their Spanish skills over the half term holidays. Staying with Spanish families and studying at the "Malaga Plus" language school each morning, the girls had plenty of opportunities to get speaking and practising the language.
Each day, the girls spent four hours at language school where the lessons were taught exclusively in Spanish and included intensive grammar training. Following school they returned to their Spanish families for a typical Spanish lunch.

To ensure that the girls made the most of their surroundings and experienced Spanish culture there was also time for sightseeing. Hannah Thomas from U6 writes, "In the afternoons we had trips to a variety of interesting places, such as Malaga Cathedral, the Alcazaba of Malaga, a mountain walk, the Pablo Picasso Museum, the Nerja caves, and even some retail therapy (to practise our Spanish of course)!"
All in all it was a very successful trip and Mrs Bates and the rest of the staff who accompanied the girls were extremely impressed by how much the girls' knowledge and skills increased.
