Pipers Ski Trip – 13/02/09 – 21/02/09

This year's Pipers Ski trip took place in Austria. With fantastic snow and well groomed pistes, not to mention excellent après ski activities the whole group had a wonderful time.

Despite an interesting start due to bad weather, heavy traffic and a missed ferry the girls all made it safely to their destination and were excited to get on the slopes as soon as possible.

For the first two days of skiing the group was located in Flachau, a pleasant resort 20 minutes drive from the hotel. The girls were placed in ski groups according to their ability and with lots of fresh snow the conditions were ideal for beginners and advanced skiers alike.

Day three was spent at Alpendorf, a wonderful resort around 30 minutes from the hotel. The snow was falling heavily when the girls arrived and set in for the whole day (and night) that followed. Whilst the ski conditions were brilliant, the visibility was somewhat restricted so the group returned to Flachau on the following day for safety reasons.

All of the girls also thoroughly enjoyed the après ski activities on offer. There was a quiz night, Karaoke, bowling, pizza night, and ice skating as well as the presentation night on the final evening.

Awards presented at the end of the week:

  • Jade Wilkinson was awarded Skier of the Week (for the third consecutive year)
  • Imogen Stilwell was awarded Most Improved Skier
  • Josie Owen was awarded Best Boarder.

All girls received cards detailing their ability and skills achieved.

At the end of the trip Mrs Collins said "It was a fantastic trip and all the girls were very well behaved and really enjoyed the time spent on the mountain. I'm sure that all the girls are already looking forward to next year just as much as I am."
