The Prep Department became a hive of artistic activity as part of a day to celebrate the new facilities available to them within their new Prep Art Studio. Each class had the opportunity to meet a real artist, hear about their life and take part in a workshop, discovering new skills. Thanks to the involvement of several creative parents the girls took part in sessions that focussed on collage, model making and the production of Christmas decorations.

In the morning girls in Year 6 enjoyed a talk and demonstrations by Mrs Bradley about Icons before having a go at making some themselves. They were followed by girls in Year 4 who enjoyed making collages under the creative eye of Mrs Harman. Mrs Harman also kindly loaned two of her own beautiful collages to be displayed in the Art Studio. |
After break it was the turn of the girls in Year 3 as they made Christmas decorations with Mrs Martin Löf. The girls produced some extremely pretty cranberry hearts and were thrilled with the result.

In the afternoon Mr Meeson came in to talk to girls in Year 5 about model making. After the talk the girls all set about making their own wonderful models of snowmen and Father Christmas.

Head of Prep, Mrs Doran said, "I can't thank our talented and creative parents enough for giving up their time and coming in to provide such inspirational activities for the girls. It is fantastic that in our Art Studio we now have a dedicated area where the girls can truly unleash their creative potential and they have all thoroughly enjoyed the experience today."
