The whole of the Pre-Prep Department took part again this year in the Operation Christmas Child initiative, sending shoeboxes filled with lots of goodies to less fortunate children around the world.

Operation Christmas Child is the UK's largest children's Christmas appeal and has been running for over 19 years. Last year, through Operation Christmas Child, over 1.2 million shoeboxes packed full of gifts and goodies were wrapped, packed and sent to children in disadvantaged situations by children and adults in the UK. The idea is that you fill a shoe box with gifts tailored to a boy or a girl which will then be distributed to a child in need and hopefully make them feel special and valued.

This year the Pre-Prep girls collected 38 shoeboxes. Each box was beautifully covered with festive paper and obvious care had been taken in filling them with lovely things from toothbrushes to teddies and pencils to puppets. This very worthwhile project not only supplies children with a Christmas present but also gives Pre-Prep girls an insight into other children's experience of Christmas.
