On Friday the whole of Prep and Pre-Prep excitedly joined together to take part in a magical Image Musical Theatre Group performance of the traditional fairy tale "Beauty and the Beast". As it was also "Children in Need" day the girls all attended the performance dressed as princesses in a variety of beautiful costumes.

The first part of the morning was taken up by a 30 minute rehearsal for the audience in which the girls learnt the words and actions to some of the songs from the show, so that they could join in with the main performance. At the same time a lucky group of girls were chosen to perform roles within the play including being roses, servants and even a table!
The Landau Hall then became Beauty's House, the Forest and the Beast's Castle as the performance began. With wonderful period costumes and a variety of memorable songs, the girls were entranced by the popular tale of how Beauty sees beneath the ugly frightening exterior of The Beast and discovers a loyal, loving heart.

Head of Prep, Mrs Doran, said, "Having the opportunity to take part in the interactive performances given by the Image Musical Theatre Group really allows the girls to become involved in a story in an interesting and exciting way. It also gives them in an insight into the world of theatre and they loved seeing the imaginative way that sets can transform a space."
