The Summer Term saw the return of the annual Pipers Corner Art exhibition. The Cottesloe Centre became a gallery bursting with artistic creations as our talented Art, Textiles and Product Design students proudly displayed their work.

This year the AS Textiles students were working to the theme of "Sanctuary". Inspired by visits to the Imperial War Museum, the Design Museum and the Fashion and Textiles Museum the girls each made the themes their own with their varied creations including a tribal dress and a bubble dress designed with scuba diving in mind. The set brief for A2 girls was "Discord" and again many of the girls were inspired by the trip to the Imperial War Museum and so armour provided some really fantastic interpretations in their work.

In Art this year girls studying GCSE were working to themes which included "Celebration, Carnival, Festival", "Ritual" and "Me Myself and I". This resulted in various pieces including paintings and masks. As with the Textiles students the AS and A2 themes were "Sanctuary" and "Discord". The girls interpreted this in a number of ways reflecting on war, suffering and safety.

Also on show were coffee tables made by this year's GCSE Design Technology students. Taking inspiration from furniture around them the girls were tasked with designing and building a coffee table which would be suitable for home assembly.

Head of Art, Mrs Hogan said, "The exhibition is a culmination of the work of the GCSE, AS and A2 students and an excellent opportunity to showcase all their talent to the girls, parents, governors, staff members and other members of the community. We are extremely proud of all the girls and the commitment and dedication they have shown throughout their respective course. Everyone who visited the exhibition was extremely impressed with the high standard of work on display."
