Girls in the Prep Department held their annual Hampden House Day today. Led by the Prep Hampden House Captain, Jodie Pope (UIII1), the Hampden girls arranged an assortment of exciting activities for the rest of the Prep girls to enjoy.
At morning break the girls ran a sweet stall in the dining room where other girls could come and buy penny chews, éclairs and lots of other tasty treats. This was followed at lunch time with an array of stalls including apple bobbing, a raffle, a lucky dip, book sale, quizzes, keep the lolly game and treasure in the sand. There was also the opportunity for the girls to display their vocal talents and try out karaoke.
The undeniable highlight of the day was the sponge throw, during which the girls paid for the chance to throw wet sponges at Mrs Doran, Coach Stone, Miss Snellgrove and Mr Cartwright. All the girls who took part thoroughly enjoyed taking aim and trying to get their teachers as wet as possible!
As well as all the stalls and activities the girls were also invited to come to school with "crazy hair" for a fee of 20p! There certainly were some very different "hair dos" to see around school all day.
In total the day raised a spectacular £171.11 which will go towards this year's Hampden House Charity, Africa Link. House Captain Jodie expressed her thanks to all of Prep for helping to collect this marvellous amount of money, especially Hampden girls and even more especially Hampden girls in UIII1 who worked very hard: Rebecca Robinson, Millie Fish, Alexandra Charnock, Lisa Bradley and Charlotte West.
