Congratulations to UV student Kate Ryde who won gold in her first race for Great Britain when she took part in the Women's Double race at the Anglo-French Junior Regatta held in Cardiff Bay in July.
|
| Kate, who rows with Maidenhead Club partner Gabby Watson, came from behind to beat the two French crews they were racing against in a difficult race due to the choppy conditions.
Kate's success continued a week later when she and Gabby won the J16 doubles final at the National Rowing Championships in Nottingham. She also was part of the Maidenhead crew who competed in the J16 Women's Quad Final where she ended in a very creditable silver position. These silver and gold medals were a fitting end to what has been a marvellous season for Kate and we wish her well as she looks to the future and the possibility of making the World Championships Team next year. |
