Girls, their families, Governors, teachers and invited guests came together on Saturday to celebrate the many achievements of the Pipers' girls and mark the end of the academic year at the annual Parents' Day. Prizes were awarded not only for academic success but also for the effort, enthusiasm and sheer dedication put into sporting activities and drama and musical performances.

The guest of honour was Miss Elizabeth Hinds, a Former Civil Servant (Assistant Under Secretary of State, Home Office) and current member of the criminal injuries compensation appeals panel. Miss Hinds had the pleasure of presenting the prizes and awards to the girls before giving a short address. During her speech she told the girls was an honour it was to be able to share their success. Miss Hinds urged each and every one of the girls to decide what it is that they would like to achieve in life and then do their very best to see their vision through. She said "Every single person has a talent that can benefit society. Use your talents, energy, creativity and intelligence to make the world a better place."

Head Girl, Charlotte Jeffery also spoke at the ceremony and summed up her feelings about Pipers saying, "The staff here nourish talents and encourage patience of the girls weaknesses, confident that one day they will become strengths. They give their time, energy, and dedication to make sure that we all do our absolute best for ourselves."

At the end of the ceremony the Head Girl for 2009/10 was announced. Congratulations to Victoria Williams-Gray who along with her Deputies, Imogen Egan and Alexandra Thomas-Davies and sports' captain, Devon Adams, will lead the team of Senior Prefects next year.

Following the formal presentations all guest were invited to partake of tea and cakes on the lawn. The Pipers Corner Fellowship also ran their traditional champagne bar. Musical entertainment was provided by Mr Lloyd and the School Jazz Band. Despite the odd shower, the high spirits were not dampened and it was a very special end to the academic year.
