Girls in LII (Year 3) spread the message of friendship today with a performance of "Billy no Buzz", a mini musical which considers themes of tolerance and acceptance of others. Including a number of songs such as "Five Fine Bumble Bees", "It's Easy to be Friends" and "Poor Billy", the girls put on a fantastic show for the girls in PP1 in the afternoon, before performing it to an audience of family and friends.

Poor Billy has no buzz and all the other bees don't want to be his friend which makes Billy very sad. That is until some dragonflies come along and make the bees realise that just because Billy has no buzz doesn't mean he works any less than them or that he is any different from them. The bees realise the error of their ways and apologise and accept Billy back in.

As Billy says to the audience at the end of the piece "The moral of the story is that we can all live in the world together and be kind to one another despite our differences."

After they had watched the play, Drama Teacher Ms Halton, asked PP1 what they had learnt from watching LII and comments were:

  • "Be nice to each other"
  • "Be friends"
  • "Everyone is the same"

It was very satisfying for the girls in LII to hear that they had successfully got their message across and they were justifiably proud of themselves and their achievement.
