The annual Pipers Corner Inter-House Music Competition was held on Thursday 8 May. A number of girls from each House performed pieces of music that all related to a main theme. With a high standard of performance this year's competition was especially tough.
The themes chosen this year were "Music through the ages" (Penn), "Blue" (Hampden), "Conflict" (Mandeville) and "Humanitarianism" (Milton). With a representative from each House linking the pieces together each performer presented their theme in an entertaining and interesting way.

The House performances were judged as a whole by a guest judge, Mr Nick Robinson, a Music teacher from neighbouring Wycombe Abbey School. Summing up at the end of the competition he said "I have been very impressed by the performances today, particularly the choirs – the commitment on their faces as they sung and the teamwork on show really struck me. I was also very impressed by the way the rest of the girls were very attentive during the performances and took notice of the talents of the girls who were performing."
Mr Robinson named Mandeville as the winning House.
Headmistress, Mrs Ness-Gifford rounded off the afternoon by saying "This is a fantastic opportunity for us to come together as a whole School to recognise our musical achievements. This has been a lovely occasion and I would like to congratulate all the girls on the way they performed today."
