On Friday 25 September, Pipers girls joined thousands of people across the country, and in several other parts of the world, when they held a coffee morning to raise money for people affected by cancer. The initiative on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support was part of the "World's Biggest Coffee Morning".

Charity Prefects Amy Cooper and Frances Bennett write, "With help from the other Prefects on the morning, instead of coffee, hot chocolate was served, with a variety of extra toppings, such as whipped cream, marsh mallows, chocolate buttons, chocolate flakes and sprinkles all for £1.50. We had a great number of girls queuing up outside the lunch hall at short break and made a huge £170 in 30 minutes for the very worthwhile cause. The event was very successful and we are hoping to hold another event soon in aid of one of our nominated charities."
