On Thursday 6 March Pipers Corner School celebrated books and reading as part of World Book Day. Girls had the opportunity to take part in quizzes, a design a book competition and class discussions about their favourite books and authors.
In the Library, Mrs Sue Williams, the School Librarian had put together a display of favourite authors from a form survey completed earlier in the term and ran the various quizzes.
One of the highlights of the day for the younger girls was the opportunity to come to school dressed up as their favourite character from a book. There were lots of exciting characters to see including Hermione Granger, Tracy Beaker, Cinderella, Heidi, Cruella Da Ville and even The Cat in the Hat!

As part of the run up to World Book Day we were very pleased to welcome The Storyteller, John Harris, to School on Wednesday 5 March. He delighted the year 5 and 6 girls with a story about an Indian Princess who fell in love with a poor man, only to discover later that he was actually a Prince! The girls were enthralled by John's presentation of the story to them as he made then gasp in shock one minute and laugh out loud the next.

All in all we had two fantastic days of fun and were introduced to a range of exciting new books and authors.
