Prep girls at Pipers Corner School took great delight in gathering in their first harvest from the allotments they planted earlier in the year. It was very satisfying for all the girls involved to see that their hard work of tending to their plants had really paid off.
With bumper crops of vegetables including carrots, beetroot, beans, tomatoes, pumpkins and squashes, members of the Gardening Club were really excited about the amount of things they had managed to grow. A crop of sweetcorn is still to be harvested in the next few weeks.

The girls are now busy preparing the ground for their winter crops of onions, broad beans and cabbages and are looking forward to similar success with them.
