Year 7 girls went back to basics this week when they took part in bushcraft course run by the Bushcraft Company. Spending the day in the woods in the Pipers Grounds the girls learnt survival skills including how to build fires and the art of cooking on them.

Head of Year 7 Mrs Collins said, "The Bushcraft Company transformed an area of the school woodland into a fantastic ‘camp' and organised an exciting day for the Year 7 girls which had tremendous social benefits, encouraging girls to work hard as teams in preparing fires and cooking their lunch in true bushcraft style. Corn on the cob, gazelle burgers, salmon and ostrich steaks provided a hearty lunch for the girls and a true spirit of ‘getting stuck in' was evident from the girls. It was a superb day with all the girls making new friends (with spiders as well as each other!)"
