Our boarding community at Pipers Corner offers flexibility, freedom and peace of mind to both girls and their parents. The school's safe and secure accommodation provides a "second home" environment at the heart of the school.
What makes boarding at Pipers Corner different from other boarding schools?
In the warmth of this special community, girls can share friendship, have fun and achieve their academic potential.
Girls aged 8-18 can be full or weekly boarders at the school. We can also offer three different ways to board with the additional option of occasional or temporary boarding when it suits our families.
Outside the timetabled day the girls are supervised in their academic work and supervised "Prep" sessions take place each evening and on Saturday morning. The girls enjoy the opportunity this gives them to do their work alongside their friends.
They are also able to utilise the school facilities, such as the food technology, art and textiles rooms or the music areas if they want to work on more practical projects. Boarding staff take a real interest in each girl's academic development and provide an outstanding level of personal support.
Our boarding community has included girls from a wide range of overseas countries including Hong Kong, China, Russia, Germany, Japan, Thailand, Holland and America, as well as girls whose families live in the UK or very locally. We also have a number of daughters of serving military personnel.
There are no set exeats at Pipers Corner and girls can choose to go out for weekends to stay with their friends, relatives or guardians, whenever they wish. There are always girls in at weekends and we tailor the arrangements to suit their wishes. Some girls will choose to stay in at weekends so that they can complete homework assignments in peace and quiet, or to revise before the busy examination periods. All weekends include activities at Pipers or a trip off-site.
We treat each of our girls as individuals and weekend arrangements include their suggestions. Common activities include: London trips, ice-skating, bowling, shopping, museum, theatre and cinema trips. They are also free to take advantage of the school's own on-site facilities for swimming or other sporting activities which include our own fitness centre.
The school minibus and nine seater car allow us to access many activities in the surrounding areas.
Pipers Corner is set in 36 acres of grounds so there is lots of outside space for them to explore. The school also hosts a number of special events for boarders such as a Halloween evening, Chinese New Year dinner and barbeques.
The school is happy to help parents with making travel arrangements for their daughters and we have links with local transport firms who provide excellent airport services.
